10 Gram Gold and Quartz

This specimen was found in a very remote part of the West Australian outback. It is pretty much as harsh and as remote as goldfields in Australia get. This prospector spent the whole summer in 48 degrees celsius mining in the extreme heat to find this nugget amongst a patch of others. He is a full time prospector who doesn't leave the desert in the summer, tough as nails and deserves every piece of gold he finds! It takes a certain type of tough to make it work that deep into the outback! 

It is a quartz specimen with a total of 10 grams of gold. We did a specific gravity test to get the total gold weight. This piece has come directly from a quartz vein, the specimen has detached over time waiting to be found. The goal after finding this would be to prospect back towards the source and find the source . Such a unique addition for anyones collection. 

For centuries this nugget was sitting and waiting to be found, its pretty cool!
